Thomas is all about privacy lately. “I’ll go up to nap by myself” he says. It actually means he’s going up to read and just pretend to sleep. “Don’t check on me” is another favourite.

I can’t get this kid to sit down – even in the bath. It’s a little concerning because he has slipped a couple of times (and swallowed quite a bit of bath water) but he just won’t sit down and relax.
And it’s not just in the bath. If I sit on the floor for any period of time, Samuel is soon next to me, pulling himself up on my arm – or using my hair as leverage. Even when I’m standing up, he’ll pull himself up on my leg.
Yet he doesn’t seem very interested in walking, aside from a few instances when he has moved carefully from one piece of furniture to another. Still, I think he’ll be an early walker. He turns 9 months old next week.

So it seems that this blog has become more about photography lately and much less about digi scrapping. It’s a shame because I still enjoy making scrapbook pages.
I have had an excuse though, with both of my CTs on a little hiatus of late. But I am excited to say that they are both on their way back with cute new stuff.
And I have a couple of cute fun freebies to share to celebrate valentine’s day. Yes, I am late. I know. I know. Valentine’s day is a non-event in our house so it’s easy to miss it – not that I’m complaining. It’s just not a big deal for me. Since we’ve had a wedding anniversary, we really don’t need a Valentine’s day anymore. I’d rather celebrate on a day that just ours.
That’s not to say I don’t enjoy all the gorgeous Valentine’s digi supplies. I am a sucker for hearts and pinks and reds. It’s about the only time of the year when I can scrap with hearts on my boys pages and really get away with it.
Here are the freebies.
First – an adorable alpha from Lauren Reid on the newly revamped team blog.
And a fun frame from Tara.

And here’s a little page I made for hubby as we celebrate our tenth year of marriage this year (Gasp!). Click on the image for credits and journaling.
Hope you had a fun love-filled day.

Thomas patiently waiting for his friend Candence to come and ride bikes. He refused to wait inside, preferring instead to sit outside in the freezing cold wearing his helmet and with The Wiggles to keep him company.
Sadly, it started raining 5 minutes into the ride and Thomas decided to come back inside where it was dry and warm. I suppose sometimes the anticipation is more satisfying than the actual event.

A lazy family day. Hanging out at home and then a walk to a local cafe for lunch. Then Kei picked up the camera and took these cute photos.

Samuel is so much fun right now.

Thomas was a little cranky. Three is a tough age.

This is Samuel’s favourite position. It seemed that as soon as he learned how to crawl, all he wanted to do is stand. When Samuel is not crawling all over the house trying to find new cords to chew or dust bunnies to eat, you can find him in the living room standing up by the ottoman and occasionally trying to move over to the couch. Instead of relaxing in the bath, he chooses to stand and hold onto the edge (and possibly risk injury in the process).
I know this kid is going to be walking in no time and he’s not even nine months old. Lord help me.

The cheese face is back. And here begins the problem with photographing toddlers – wanting something candid and fun, but getting something forced and, in this case, as trade for a little TV watching. As soon as Thomas realizes how important it is to me to take his photo, I will be in trouble. I anticipate a lot of bribes and promises in my future.

Now that Thomas is three he has started becoming a real boy. As much as I have tried to (gently) discourage it, he is into wrestling and fighting and pirates and anything requiring loud noises. Buzz and Woody are in a perpetual war with Zurg (you’ll have to look that one up) and poor Slinky Dog is going to be stretched beyond recognition if he continues to act as a bungy cord. And thanks to a new interest in matchbox cars, I get a nervous tic every time I hear the sound of metal on hardwood floors.
I dream of dolls and pretty pink, soft things that are quiet and dainty.
I’m learning to deal with it.
