P365 Day 140 – May 19th 2008

The next few P365 pics are of Samuel. Mainly because he and I have been spending a lot of time together over the past week so he has been my sole photo subject.

My mum actually took this photo on Monday while proud big brother held the new addition to the family. I was still in bed and hooked up to about 6 different tubes so I have a good excuse for not taking it on my own. Thomas has been so sweet with the baby. When he talks to him his voice raises an octave and he is so gentle.

P365 Day 139 – May 18th 2008

My toenails are done – must mean I am ready to have this baby.

Feeling a little nervous about the fact that I am going to be awake while they cut me open tomorrow morning (didn’t have time to think about it when I had Thomas) but excited about the outcome. Thomas is excited too. He wanted to go and get the baby today (actually he used the word “NOW”). I hope he’s not too disappointed when he finds out that the baby can’t play with him right away.

Can’t wait to see the two of them together. By noon tomorrow I will be a mother of two – eeeck!

P365 Day 138 – May 17th 2008

I LOVE colour – which means Thomas loves colour. Hey, at least his shoes match his shorts. He’s all ready to head to the fountain with Kei on a 90+ degree day on Portland. Yes, wading in a fountain at the park is a little white trash but you do what you have to when the wading pool is closed on weekends (crazy, right?).

P365 Day 136 – May 15th 2008

Enjoying a cookie after daycare. It’s started getting warmer and Thomas has been coming home with pink cheeks and a sweaty head. That’s something he gets from me – the pink cheeks after excercise, that is. He gets the sweaty head from his father.

P365 Day 134 – May 13th 2008

Thomas has never had a lot of hair. He was pretty much bald until he was 18 months and then had a natural cew cut (without the cut) until well past his second birthday. Which is why I love it so much now that he gets bed head and his hair stands up after wearing a hat. He still has never had his hair cut – and I don’t think he will until I get over the novelty of classic photo ops with hair askew.

P365 Day 133 – May 12th 2008

My very first hand made Mothers’ Day gift. Isn’t it pretty? Of course it wasn’t really a surprise. Thomas is not very good at keeping a secret. I went to pick him up from daycare on Friday and he said “We need to get the necklace”. So I said “What necklace?” and he said “Your necklace”. So when I opened the box later that night (of course we couldn’t wait until Mothers’ day) it wasn’t really a surprise. But I love it – and my son made it for me. 🙂

And then Thomas wanted to wear it for the rest of the night. 🙂

P365 Day 132 – May 11th 2008

Clearly we have not been taking enough advantage of the instinctive desire of a toddler to help. Here he is peeling the strings of snap peas – and loving every minute of it. Now if only he were a couple of feet taller so he could start washing the windows.
