Bathtime. I just love his smooshy face.
I couldn’t choose a favourite today so I have two photos.

The proud big brother. Thomas just adores Samuel and keeps saying things like “I love my baby”. He has also become much more affectionate with me, telling me he loves me more before he goes to bed. It is so cute. I think he would literally love Samuel to death if we left them unsupervised.

Can you imagine being this relaxed?

An adorable photo of my baby showing his big brown eyes. Yes – they are brown. My dream of a green eyed baby is still a dream. Not that his eyes aren’t beautiful, but a little part of me was hoping for that little one in four chance of him taking after me in some way. Oh well, I guess he’ll just have to take after me in the intelligence department. There’s worse things.

Kei and Thomas enjoying an artistic moment together after daycare. I just love the concentration on their faces. In fact Kei is quite the artist. His picture of a Tryceratops was well reviewed by some neighbours who dropped by and today he was working on a T-rex. We should have a full Jurassic park mural in a few days.

Mum gave this to me as a gift when I was in the hospital. Isn’t it adorable?

Hanging out with Daddy and Thomas. That’s a yawn, not a cry.

I tried to catch a photo of Samuel with his eyes open today because today was a turning point. I forgot how much babies sleep when you first bring them home and how great it is when they begin becoming more alert and take in their surrounds. Samuel spent at least a few hours in this alert state today and I was so busy enjoying it that I didn’t take a (pretty bad) photo until late tonight. That’s not a bad thing.

When Thomas was born we spent $60 on two new miracle blankets. These supposedly magic blankets were supposed to mimic the womb by enclosing the baby in a something resembling a straight jacket – basically the easy way to swaddle. Thomas wasn’t into it. The little houdini would wiggle his way out of it as soon as we wrapped him up. It seemed to keep him awake more than calm him. Well apparently every baby is different and our boys are like chalk and cheese. Samuel has taken to it quite nicely. Not sure it’s the miracle it purports to be but so far so good.

I love perfect little baby ears as well.
