So we finally have a start date for our house renovation – next Monday!!!
In case you haven’t been following. we are building a dormer on our second floor which basically involves tearing off the roof of our house and rebuilding it. It means we have to move to our two (small) bedrooms downstairs and will be in noise and dirt hell for about 5 weeks while they do the initial demo and build. I am (partly) kidding about this post title. 🙂
Oh and if that’s not enough:

We need to move everything downstairs or into the basement by the end of next weekend which means Kei will need to get some help because I am NOT carrying our dresser downstairs while 7 months pregnant.

Thomas’ daycare is closed for Spring Break (the first week of our reno) so Kei and I will be juggling childcare next week while trying not to take any vacation so we can save it up for when the baby comes.

We also have a friend (and his girlfriend) coming to stay the very same weekfor three days. Hope they don’t mind noise and mess. They’ll be sleeping in the living room.

I need to find alternative napping arrangements for Thomas on Wednesdays because I have been told there is no chance of sleep while the renovation is happening. I am planning to make some phonecalls and ask some favours from stay at home mum friends OR increase Thomas’ daycare to five days until the baby comes.

Our second child is due in about 10 weeks and who knows where we’ll be in the renovation by then.
The good news is that at the end of all this we’ll have an extra bathroom, a walk in closet and three very new bedrooms upstairs. Can’t wait for that part – if we’re sane enough to enjoy it of course. 
Oh, and I should have plenty of photo opps for my photo of the day.

Good luck with it all…sounds complicated! Just don’t wear yourself out being 7 months preggers and all!
