Diet? Let’s hope not.

Ugh – just returned from a nasty lab test where they make you drink a horrible glucose drink and draw your blood four times over three hours. I had to do this test when I was pregnant with Thomas as well and thankfully the results were good. I hope I have the same outcome this time as te alternative means a restrictive diet for the remainder of my pregnancy.

Anyone who knows me is aware of just how hard that would be for me to stick to a diet. I think giving up chocolate could very well push me to the edge of insnaity. Since I have had to give up wine and sushi, it is the only food crutch I have left.

The good news is that last night Kei and I realized that we only have 10 weeks to go. 10 weeks! Can you believe it? I can’t wait to meet this little guy who has been so active in my belly. Last night I think he actually had a big stretch in there. No matter how many babies I end up having (three would probably be the max) it will always be a surreal experience to have a living being inside me. INSIDE me! So weird.

Scrap News

I have been feeling so inspired to scrap lately. I’m sure my new Jen Wilson goodies have something to do with it and did I mention the fabulous challenges she is running on her site? Here’s the latest.

My “All About Me” page. Hey, at least I’m honest… Click on image for credits and to read journaling.

This one’s a scraplift. Thank goodness because it is so much quicker for me to lift than come up with a design on my own and the deadline is tonight.

You may notice that I have been using a lot of my photos of the day for my scrap pages. This little project has definitely provided me with a lot of scrapping inspiration which I love.

Until next time

P365 Day 58 – Feb 27th 2008

We started driving to the science museum today when Thomas suggested the zoo. In fact his words were “it’s sunny at the zoo” – and he had a point. So instead we changed direction and headed toward the zoo.

This photo was taken by the fake blowhole. Thomas likes to add a little drama to the moment by throwing out his hands.

It was a nice relaxing morning and would have been a great day if Thomas had taken a nap when we got home. I guess he wasn’t as worn out by our zoo visit as I was but he sure was overtired at bedtime. We did have a fun day together.

P365 Day 57 – Feb 26th 2008

Thomas wouldn’t stop moving so I was lucky to get one good shot for day 57. I bought this hat for him at Old Navy the other day and it is so cute on him. It also resembles the hat worn by Cosmo – a character in Singing in the Rain – so we have had some cute renditions of “Make ’em laugh”. He also likes to thrown his pyjama pants over his shoulder and pretend it’s an umbrella while singing and dancing in the rain. We definitely have a performer on our hands.

Oh, and despite the fact that Thomas ended up with most of his father’s features – the eyelashes come from me. Hey, it’s something. 🙂

P365 Day 56 – Feb 25th 2008

Curious George was all about a piggy bank so Kei retrieved Thomas’ bank from his bedroom and they had fun “feeding” it. That piggy bank has been in his room for about two years and I don’t think Thomas has ever noticed it. It’s actually too heavy for Thomas to carry so if I am ever in need of some spare change I know where to go… kidding.

Lucky Me

I have had a lucky week in the Digi World. Not only did I win one of the blog challenges at Little Dreamer Designs with this LO, but I also won a random number generated prize from Jen Wilson – a GC from giftcertificates.com (cashed it in for a Barnes and Noble GC – recommendations on good books appreciated.)

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Jen’s new line yet, you definitely should head over there. The Sock Monster finds are fabulous and only 75c per pack. Of course I could spend a fortune in that store (and, to be honest, I think I have over the past few months).

I have also been taking part in the regular challenges for the new line. They are just so inspirational and help me scrap those things I ususally don’t take time for… uh… like myself. I usually hate creating pages about myself. I feel so much pressure to create something meaningful that my children will cherish that I feel like I lose who I really am. I am not very touchy feely. I am not a hugger (although cuddles with Thomas are a different matter). I don’t like putting my sentiments into words. Actually I think that’s what my next page will be about. Jen has challenged us to an all about me page and I think I just have to be honest… I am just not good at all about me pages. 🙂

Anyway, my first two challenge LOs (images are clickable for a closer look).

I want to know if anyone else has the same problem. Do you LIKE creating pages about yourself? Hate it? What do you do to record stories about yourself? Or are all the stories you create in some way a reflection of you without an “all about me” page?

Let me know if I’m alone. 🙂

P365 Day 54 – Feb 23rd 2008

Kei and Thomas at their swimming lesson today. Yes, Thomas’ lips are a little blue. I guess it was a bit cold.

Although it doesn’t look like Thomas is enjoying himself he is getting more comfortable in the water. Kei said he holds on for dear life while they are moving around and his favourite thing is the monkey move – holding onto the side of the pool and crawling from one end to the other (that’s actually what he’s doing in this pic). I guess he still has more work to do before he is really comfortable in the water.

P365 Day 52 – Feb 21st 2008

Thomas was hiding from me in a cardboard box when I came home on Thursday. He is so funny these days. Always trying to make us laugh with funny walks and even knock knock jokes (who’s there? Boo! Boo Hoo!).

Refresher Course

I’m not sure how much I remember about the newborn stage. I’m sure it will all come back to me when the new baby comes but, for now, check out this great (funny) refresher course. (Thanks Dooce)

Although hosing the baby down is sometimes necessary… )
