Nesting out of necessity. I went through Thomas’ closet and sorted all of his old baby clothes into boxes according to size. I folded baby blankets, put bottles and pumping implements into containers and even organized the tiny little baby hats. (Although my organization may be premature – Thomas wore his hospital hat for at least a month after we brought him home because his head was so small).
I wish I was prepping for a nursery but I suppose at least three months of living in renovation chaos is reason enough to get organized. Work officially starts on Monday although the demo will be another few weeks. Good thing too because we still have closets to clean out, furniture to move and a basement to organize. Busy few weeks ahead.
I am totally addicted to this song. I know it was a big hit in Australia and the UK a while ago. I picked up the CD while I was in Aus last August and have listened to it…oh… about 500 times since. Poor Thomas has had to dance to it around the house.
I have just started hearing it on TV promos here in the states so maybe it is starting to catch on. And now that I am able to post links to YOU Tube I can share it here.
And no, I am not ashamed of my obviously very POP music leanings. I have learned to embrace my love for all things pop without fear of retribution from Music snobs (my husband included). There is a reason it is called POP – as in popular.
And catchy. Try and get this out of your head after listening to it a couple of times (no apologies for that either. :))

A couple of my latest pages. The first is for a special RAK Lift we did on the Lauren Reid Creative Team blog. A scrapper who goes by the name of NevadaJen has been having a really rough time lately and the team decided to do something to try and lft her spirits. You can read about Jen’s story and see the other fabulous lifts on the blog. Click on the image below to see credits for the LO.
I have been making a concerted effort to scrap with my stash lately. I seriously have so many beautiful papers and elements on my hard drive that I have never used. I have even stopped buying new stuff simply because I can’t justify the purchase when I haven’t used half of what I have. Now that I am down to two CT’s I have more time to scrap for myself and I am loving it.
This page uses bits and pieces from all over including papers from Lisa Whitney, elements from Gina Miller and some cute Emily Merritt stuff. I even used the heavy duty staples by Kate Hadfield that everyone has been raving about. As always, you can click on the image for full credits. Oh, and think this is one of my favourite page titles. 🙂
Thanks again for stopping by my little blog. It’s so great that I now have stats and can see how many people read this thing. Makes me want to try and say something interesting every once in a while. 🙂

Proof that we do sometimes have blue skies in winter. It was a beautiful day in Portland yesterday – but freezing cold. It barely made it above freezing. I don’t know how the sun can be so bright, yet not emit any heat.
I used a retired photo action from Holly McCaig on this pic. Pity she doesn’t make them for elements anymore – I just can’t justify purchasing lightroom.
Welcome to my brand new location. I have been using WordPress for our family blog and thought it was time to simplify. Maybe I should have chosen that as my word for 2008? Hmmmm.
Expect to see some changes to this blog design as I get used to my new diggs. I mean you have to try things out, see how it feels before you redecorate, right?
And for my very first post at my new locale, a very funny video clip a friend sent to me today. Working Mums (and Dads), anyone with kids and well… anyone who’s married will understand. I really have to add these guys to my Netflix.
Thanks for stopping by

A visit to Storables today. We are trying to get organized so it feels like we are here every week. This week – hardware to fit out the closet in the playroom. It is going to be Thomas’ bedroom while they tear the roof off our house so it’s important that I can actually reach the rod to hang his clothes.
I was actually trying to keep THomas out of the shot but it looks so much better with him running by. He spent most of his time in the store trying to hide from us.
This next photo was Kei’s idea. A rare family portrait thanks to a clear window reflection.
Took this without flash or tripod but I think it looks kinda cool and artsy. 🙂 Kei is getting a little embarrased by me taking photos in strange places but I told him I want to document our lives with this project which means taking photos that show what we do each day. Juno was a great movie by the way. Quirky and fun and interesting. Of course many parts made me cry and rub my belly. A movie like this provides a unique perspective when you’re pregnant.
