P365 Day 31 – Jan 31st 2008

I asked Thomas what I should take a photo of for today’s pic. Kei suggested I take one of father and son together but Thomas wanted to include Mummy as well.

It’s quite fitting that I mark the end of my first month of P365 with a family portrait. We took this pic sitting on the bathroom floor because the bathroom has the best light. I also used my new monopod to keep the camera steady without using flash.

Oh, and this is our silly shot. It’s so funny that Thomas is making a face too. I love this photo.

Now onto February. I can’t believe January is over already. I month closer to the end of winter and the arrival of this baby.

P365 Day 30 – Jan 30th 2008

Thomas fell asleep in the shopping cart yesterday. It was only 11am – way before his naptime – so this was very unusual. In fact it’s unusual for him to fall asleep in the cart at all. We got home and he went to bed for 3.5 hours! And even then I had to wake him up. Poor thing had a slight fever and wasn’t feeling well at all.

Now I think he’s playing it up because he knows I just want to make him feel better.

P365 Day 29 – Jan 29th 2008

Using Daddy’s phone to call the Wiggles.
The question: “What are you up to?”. The Answer: “Eating fruit salad”. Of course!

P365 Day 28 – Jan 28th 2008

Thomas and Kei after bathtime.

I realize this is blurry – in fact a lot of my photos are these days – but I hate using flash and I just don’t have many opportunities to take photos in good lighting conditons. It is dark when I leave home for work and dark when I return. I ordered a new lens today that may help me take clearer pics in low light. And it would probably be a good idea to get out of auto mode…

P365 Day 26 – Jan 26th 2008

Thomas playing with his puppets. I bought these from Ikea and they have definitely been worth the money. Kei likes chasing Thomas around the house with the puppet on his hand trying to “eat” him. Very entertaining.

Tempting Tuesday

It’s tempting Tuesday today at Tara’s store which means these papers are on sale for just $2.00. Although Tara created them with Easter in mind, I think these are just perfect for baby photos (I guess that’s where my head is these days). Click on the image to go directly to the store and while you’re there you can also pick up some valentines cards for just $2.00.

And sending good wishes to my CT friend Elizabeth who is due to give birth any day now (actually – could be any minute). Can’t wait to meet the little guy – at least virtually.

Oh, and still don’t have my 365 uploaded for the last couple of days. Have to do them tonight.

More Information & Weekend Excitement

So I posted about the song that I just can’t get out of my head in this post but, as someone commented, failed to mention the artist or the album. How’s that for leaving you hanging?

The artist is MIKA and the Album is called “Life in Cartoon Motion.” I think the cover art on it’s own is enough to make you buy the album – if only for some scrapping inspiration. 🙂

Image is clickable and you can buy it from Amazon in the US for just $7.99 – way less than I paid in Aus – even with the favourable exchange rate. Hate when that happens.

OK – Sales pitch over. I should be getting kickbacks from his record company.

This weekend was a pretty quiet one. We were supposed to have friends over for game night on Saturday but Thomas is trying to get rid of a cough and I woke up with a very sore throat. Given that some of the guests were 1-3 month old infants we thought it best that we don’t expose them (or their parents) to the dreaded lurgy.

It actually turned out to be a very good thing we cancelled. Just before 4:30pm (the exact time our guests were due to start arriving) we saw flashing lights outside our house. Turned out to be about 10 police cars blocking off our street and a bunch of police officers standing outside our house. Then one of our neighbours called to tell us there had been a shooting and that the gunman had been seen running into one of the houses across the street.  So our plan to go out and do the shopping was not going to happen. We closed the blinds and locked the doors and tried to find some info online. Of course there was nothing and after a couple of hours the police started leaving. No shots fired, no yelling or anything scary, just another day in the neighbourhood.

Anyway, the story is that some guy killed himself in his car up the street. The family member who was with him panicked and ran away and they thought he or she may have been the shooter. Not a fun story but good to know the true story and that we weren’t really in any danger.

So that was probably the most excitement we had for the weekend. Oh, we did organise the downstairs closet ready to move Thomas into his new temporary bedroom. That was pretty darned exciting (and no, I am not being sarcastic – it was!).

Next weekend we move Thomas’ bed downstairs and I start cleaning out my closet in an attempt to fit everything I own into about half the space. I’m thinking I should just put everything that I wore before I got pregnant in storage. Let’s face it, my pre-baby body is a loooong way away.

Oh, and before I go, I won a bunch of Jen Wilson stuff this weekend from her new valentine collection (about $30 worth!) Can’t wait to start playing.

I also created this page on the weekend with some of my stash. Image is clickable if you want to see credits and journaling. And I should add that I unintentionally lifter a page by Emily Powers – at least I think that’s where the inspiration came from as my page looks uncannily similar to this one.

Wow – this turned into quite a long post. Congrats on making it to the end. 365 Photos from the weekend coming later tonight or tomorrow as soon as I get them off my camera.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web.
